Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

The sun / heat is very unbearable I guess and this heat is not good for the eyes as it can damage your eyesight if you have direct contact with the sun. The UV rays emitted by the sun are the main cause for the loss of your eyesight. So if you want to zing up your summer with a hot sporty look, then I would suggest you to go for designer sunglasses. Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The concept of multiplexing is not a new one. Offering people a great many items in a single discounted purchase is one of the best ways to stimulate sales. In some instances, the items offered within a multiplex are so appealing customers will jump at the chance to make a purchase. Such is the case with the many deals offered on ATTUverse, depending upon the package you purchase. Many package deals center on a mix of high speed internet, online television channel variety, and internet telephone connections. Of course, these packages can be further divided into the actual specifics of the items presented. That is, some packages will include extremely fast internet service and 200 channels via U-verse while others may include the same internet speed but with 300 television channels. (more…)

Little Giraffe Travel Chenille Blanket: Beyond the Hype

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

A popular baby blanket that has been promoted by quite a few mommy bloggers recently is the Little Giraffe Travel Chenille blanky.  What are they raving about?  The hype is over recent celebrity endorsements, but underlying this hip factor is this blanket’s profile as a good baby shower gift.  Let’s look deeper into the factors that gave Little Giraffe such a following.  For starters, the travel blanky is one of the smallest choices of Little Giraffe bedding.  At hardly 14 inches square, this blanket could pass for a napkin at some French restaurants I have dined in.  But its diminutive nature is actually perfect for draping over infants in a car seat, or for an impromptu diaper change while running errands around town. The Round Paula Deen Cast Iron Casserole Pot

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I really enjoy watching Paula Deen on TV, especially her warm personality and Southern cooking style. One by one I’d like to eventually make many of her recipes, especially her top ten – like the delicious Grandmother’s Sour Cream Pound Cake or the yummy Baked French Toast Casserole. She also has a lot of great information on her website including kid-friendly recipes, kitchen tips, conversion tables, and more. Having read a lot about her I find her to be a pretty neat lady. So when I heard she was coming out with her own cookware line I was pretty excited. I own a few of her pieces now including my favorite Paula Deen Enamel Cast Iron Round Casserole Pot. (more…)

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Once you purchase a Tendrils Trellis II, I guarantee you’ll want half a dozen. This trellis is perfect for hanging several small baskets or for letting the climbers (plants, not kids) go crazy on. One just isn’t enough because putting them in a row creates a lovely boundary for your front door, front walk, pool area, or patio and each one can have a different look that you get to design. One by the front door with lovely little baskets, three in a row along with edge of the patio covered in Clematis and ivy, five along the front walk covered with Honey Suckle and Trumpet Vine. Why the yard could become a maze of beauty! (more…)

Easy Black Bean Soup Is A Traditional Favorite

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

My family has enjoyed many Black Bean Soup recipes, but we always turn back to the most traditional style.  I like to keep some canned black beans on hand for convenience sake, but using cooked dry black beans is my preferred method.  They are much more economical than the canned variety and the process of soaking and cooking dry black beans is not that difficult, and it’s sort of a pleasant, cathartic task.  If you stick with the basic recipe which includes celery, onion, carrots, and garlic, your soup will turn out perfect every time.  I use my potato masher just to give the finished soup a quick mash-up which thickens the soup and brings out the flavor just a bit more.  However, I don’t like to mash it too much so as not to destroy all the whole beans and vegetables.
