A Classic Oval Covered Roaster

When I was growing up my mom always had a great big roaster that she used for all of our big family meals and holiday dinners. She’d cook her turkey in it or a big juicy roast surrounded by vegetables and potatoes. I can remember many a delicious supper that started in that great big pot. Big Pot of Baked Beans

We were invited to a pot luck dinner last week and I was asked to bring some baked beans. It was a pretty big crowd, so I needed a big pot of them. I came across this recipe for baked beans with tomato. Since the recipe calls for 2 pounds of dry beans, I figured that should make a decent size batch. I didn’t have a large enough casserole dish, so I fixed them in the crock-pot and it actually worked out perfectly.
